So the Euros has kicked-off with an absolute BANG!
But today’s offering is an explosion of European football at its finest.
Hungary vs Switzerland
An interesting game up for grabs here after Scotland getting a record breaking open day rude awakening against group favourites Germany, it opens up 2nd place quite invitingly.
Both teams will be licking their lips at the prospect of 3-points on offer with the Swiss going into the game with a better “know-how” in tournament football.
This game could prove pivotal for progression out of the group.
Spain vs Croatia
Ahh the glory days of Espana seem only like yesterday…with Xavi, Iniesta and co. running tiki-taka football around anyone who challenged.
But this opening fixture could prove an almighty crash down to earth for this Spanish squad.
Croatia are bullish, experienced and in-form, with a midfield trio of Modric, Kovacic and Brozovic I urge you to watch this midfield above anything else on a rainy Saturday in London.
I predict a riot…a Hrvatska riot.
Italy vs Albania
It’s a strange notion to see Italy as the champions going into this tournament…but they just know tournament football better than most nations.
Euro victories and World Cup victories against the odds is what Azzurri do.
But Albania are no footballing novices at the Euros, this is their second appearance at the tournament and topping their group in qualifying they’ll be up for challenging a vulnerable Italian side.
A 1-1 draw is my prediction…with Albania coming away with decent kudos going into this group of death.
